CARAMEL DATE CREAM PIE

Ingredients for 1 Pie

14 oz Can Eagle® Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk( NOT evaporated milk )
2/3 cup Chopped dates
2/3 cup Chopped pecans
2 tbsp Milk
1 cup Whipping cream, whipped
6 oz Package graham cracker crumb crust

Procedure:

1. This impressive dessert is the perfect choice for a dinner party. Chock-full of nuts and silky caramel, it will satisfy even the sweetest tooth.
2. Caramelize Eagle® Brand by preferred method.
3. Stir in dates, pecans and milk; cool.
4. Chill thouroughly.
5. Fold in whipped cream.
6. Pour into crust.
7. Chill 3 hours or until set.
8. Garnish as desired.
9. Refrigerate leftovers.
10. To caramelize Eagle® Brand Microwave:
11. Pour Eagle® Brand into 2-quart glass measure. Microwave on 1/2 power Medium 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.
12. Reduce to 1/3 power (LOW); microwave 12 to 16 minutes or until thick and light caramel-colored, stirring briskly every 2 minutes until smooth.
13. Cool. Chill thoroughly.
14. Stovetop: Pour Eagle® Brand into top of double broiler; cover. Place over boiling water.
15. Over low het, simmer 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until thick and light caramel-colored. Beat until smooth.
16. Cool. Chill thouroughly.
17. Oven: Preheat oven to 425°.
18. Pour Eagle® Brand into 8 or 9-inch pie plate. Cover with alumiunum foil; place in shallow pan.
19. Fill pan with hot water. Bake 1 to 1/2 hours or until thick and light caramel-colored.
20. Remove foil; cool.
21. Chill thouroughly.
22. Caution: Never heat unopened can.
