TURKEY SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Ingredients for 1 Recipe

1 lb Ground turkey
1 Medium onion, chopped
2 Cloves garlic, minced
19 oz Can of tomatoes, coarsely chopped
5 1/2 oz Can of tomato paste
1/2 cup Water
2 Stalks celery, chopped
1 med Carrot, chopped
1 tsp Each, dried oregano and dried basil
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Procedure:

1. In a large saucepan heat 1 tbsp (15 mL) vegetable oil and sauté turkey with onion and garlic
   until onion is soft and turkey is no longer pink.
2. Do not overcook turkey.
3. Add remaining ingredients and season with salt and pepper.
4. Bring to a boil.
5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
6. Optional: Add 1/4 cup (50 mL) red wine and 1/4 tsp (1 mL) red pepper flakes.

8. Make a double batch and freeze some for a quick meal another day.
